Starts at USD330, 16GB. Still not sure if that's a good price. If it were USD280 or below it will have instantly KO-ed the Nexus 7.

Well, costs have to go to the premium finishings of Apple products.

But I find it amusing they make a lot of noise about the Retina display on an iphone being very good, high DPI. But in the case of the ipad mini vs nexus 7, where the scenario is turned around, nary a sound heard....just a lot about how the screen is bigger hehehe....

Of course. Who advertise the weakness in their products?

Can't blame them though. How to get retina without breaking compatibility? They obvious can't squeeze iPad 3 resolution on the 7.9" iPad mini display. Using any other resolution means have to get developers to support yet another resolution.

Yeah.....just find it amusing the way they tried to get around it, and also how people jump to their defense.

All new iPads will support LTE on all 3 major networks including M1. All 3 logos showed up in the keynote when mentioning enhanced LTE support for worldwide telecoms.

Absolutely no reason to consider the Samsung. Laggy as hell. Overpriced as hell.

Only Android tablets in contention (from the start, anyway) are N7 and Kindle Fire HD.

Sigh, yet another comparison of specs with Android.

Anyway, during the keynote they actually made a side-by-side comparison with the Nexus 7. While I'm certainly disappointed it wasn't a Retina device and wish it was cheaper, the argument made about screen real estate and more importantly, the availability of real actual tablet apps as compared to Android was a really compelling one.

Was also surprised they made a larger than expected update to the full size iPad.

Apple is risking product cannibalization with more products and price points. Most significant is the iPad Mini vs refurbished iPad 3. $50 extra is definitely worth it for the larger screen and retina display.
