[Consolidated] Apple's New iPad Tablet

I'm wondering if I should start a thread here. But well, it's a gigantic, blown up iPhone. It looks exactly the same. Runs on an OS that almost similar to the iPhone.

And there are 3G models. And there's a microphone and speaker.

Seems like I gonna put down $800 for an oversized iPhone 2 months from now. Before that, I really hope that iBooks will be made available for the iPhone.

It might be disappointing but needless to say, people are still going to buy it. There is no OS 4.0, but we are all still going to have it suck it up.

But as for Amazon's Kindle, it's going to be really competitive.

I will be buying it. Despite it not living up to my expectations. One thing is for sure, I'm glad that I hold out for the iPad instead of jumping onto the Kindle.

The question now is, will owning an iPad be redundant? Let's say we are out in town. Will you take out your iPhone or iPad for googling.

iBook only works in US atm, so gotta have a US store account with credits.

I personally don't think iPad is that impressive from initial reviews, just like everyone says it's an enlarged version of iPhone.

Now if only we can run apps natively on OS X, that'll be pretty nice.

No flash support, no multitasking. Steve has been watching too much Disney, it's just not 'magical'! I'm wondering why they can't fulfill basic requirements like these?

yeah. the big question now is if the iBooks service will be available for Singapore.

with the keyboard dock and SD card adapter, i can foresee this for journalists on the go as well as travelling bloggers.

and it stands to work as a device for business people whose documents can be easily migrated to iWork format.

personally i love the calendar function. this could replace the paper notebook i bring to meetings and reduce the need for printing out presentations/documents.

hopefully there will be a quicker implementation to load non iWork docs on this machine without having to email it to yourself and without having to pay a montly fee (mobile me); something a-la dropbox.
