[Official] iPad 3 case discussions - NO SALES

Hi there

Anyone has any recommendation for Ipad 3 case? Need to cover front and back. Prefer real leather case though, not those cheap PU.

The Length & Width dimensions of the Ipad 2 and New Ipad are the same except that the New Ipad is slightly thicker. The Screen Protectors are the same. As for cases it depends on the design. Those cases that are tight fit may pose a problem but those that have slight play should be able to cater for the slight increase in thickness.

the thickness and I think the tapering at the back may be different between the two models so the new case would probably need to cater for that.

however if you just protecting the touchscreen only like with the Smart Covers then the current one would work since the length and width is the same.

The hard shell cases that fit the back of the iPad 2, may or may not work with the iPad 3. The iFrog Summit case for example has 2 different versions for iPad 2 and iPad 3. Other folio cases might have a better chance of working (the ones which have a flap to slide the iPad in instead of snapping it on).

The Smart Cover will work with both iPads of course.

Most brands already released their iPad 3 cases.

Here's MacWorld's reviews of some cases.

Nice. Hopefully we'll have some of those cases in Singapore before our iPads arrive.

Yep.

I'm planning to go for the EggShell with my smart cover.

I'll also order some vinyl decals to personalise the back.

I ordered the MicroShell Folio case. Used it on my iPad2 and loved it. It's on the way to SG now. Should arrive by the 16th

ya,, its great. Keeps the slim profile of the iPad (which I like) with great protection cause of the hard shell. Went through quite a few cases for my iPad2, but stuck with this. So will be getting it for the iPad3.

Kinda wish they have a Clear back though. I'm really into those decals I've been seeing online and would love to have one on display.

It's currently for sale at USBFever but the shipping is going to take weeks.

I'll probably wait for stores in Singapore to bring it in or some online stores based in Asia.
