we're saying stuck in recovery loop.

TS can't kick it out or restore when in recovery since his comp cannot detect the ipad.
Did you ever tried to reset your JB ipad?
If not, you can reset your JB iPad and see what will happened
next by holding the home & sleep button if stuck with the recovery...
You go try and come back to BOLD still not too late..
I tried it on my iPad 1 previously when i aslo had the port problem.
Unless the JB iPad 1 work differently from a JB iPad 2..

it wasn't me that said it will get stuck in recovery loop if do reset on JB ipad.

I suggested to use reset to get back to factory settings if TS cannot get his ipad detected by his PC and do proper restore via iTunes.

stuck in recovery can get kicked out by tinyumbrella or simply do like your suggestion if the problem is just springboard crash related.
but stuck in a recovery loop is different. by holding down power and home button, it will still come back to recovery mode. just like rebooting a device that has tethered JB.

anyways, let's not dingdong over this. we have suggested what could be done. so it's up to TS to try and get back with the results.
