1st : Yes
2nd: No
3rd: dun know what you mean (do you mean iTunes is asking you to uninstall Whatsapp ? if this is what you mean then this is normal because Whatsapp is for iPhone not for iPad)

Bottemline. you need to jailbreak if you want Whatsapp on your ipad.

why worry about jailbreaking ? it is not the end of the road for your ipad after jailbreak you can always reverse the process by restoring from itunes if you dun want the jailbreak.

When I try to install WhatsApp (v2.6.10) onto my iPad (3rd Gen) via the iPhone Configuration Utility (v3.5), I get the following error message

"Could not install application on device. Error : A signed resource has been added, modified or edited."

How do I overcome this?
hmm... somehow, i tried this method again and this time round, i did not get the error and Whatsapp installed properly onto my New Ipad. Strange....

For me, after registering, i'd been testing till now and all is good and stable. I'd yet to sync with itunes though as there were reported cases of whatspp going missing after syncing. Will test it tonight when i get home.

There

1. Download a .plist editor from plist Editor for Windows
2. Open your WhatsApp .IPA file with WinRAR.
3. Go to Payload -> whatsapp.app and open the info.plist (use .plist editor) scroll down and look for this:

</array>
<key>UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities</key>
<dict>
<key>telephony</key>
<true/>
</dict>

4. Change the <true/> to <false/>. Then save the updated file in the .IPA file
5. Now sync your WhatsApp and it will install

Sorry Bro, haven't try Bro bagger 288's suggestion yet due to heavy work load.

For regular sms, i don't think Ipad can send. However, for sms vis 3G data plan ie Whatsapp, Viber, there's no issue.

I sometimes use Viber to send picture that i had taken on my ipad to my iphone.

BTW, my ipad is using a Starhub BBOM plan and my iphone on singtel.
