Is the ipad much more than a giant ipod touch with 3g capabilities?

hi guys, i'm rather keen to buy the ipad. But my friends have been telling me that it's nothing more than a giant ipod touch that can insert 3g card inside (if i get the 3g version)

is this true?

That's what I thought initially. But after I use one, the 9.7" screen and the quality of the apps totally wins me over. I'm going to buy another one or 2 for my family, so that we dun have to fight for it.

Very true...

TS, you should read our iPad review; we were skeptical like you at first - but not until we started using one:-

I was nvr skeptical about iPad. Before jobs announced this product, I was looking for a netbook. After hearing the announcement in January, i know thats the device that i am gonna need.

After using it a while yes it's more but then it might not go far. It all depends on the developers.

The app developers are doing a really good job on the ipad. Just say the news readers. I've never come across apps like flipboard that let you read the news like a newspaper or magazine. No other OSes have this type of app. It really makes reading news more interesting now. Then the games, like those racing games. It feels like playing in an arcade center. Can never play games in this way on a netbook. no doubt it has its shortingcomings like cannot have multiple apps running at the same time or view multiple apps at the same time, no flash, but if you do not treat it as a full functional computer, it is a very acceptable social product.

You need to try it yourself and how you intend to use it. For me, I know what I am gonna use it for and it fits into my life. Ever sinceI got my ipad, I seldom use my iphone to access news and web at home, and ditto for my PC. I can rest comfortably on my sofa or bed and use the ipad. 8)

my netbook is somewhere in my drawer.....that's how much you will miss it once u have an ipad

those who say it's a giant itouch...well, they dun know what they are missing.
The very 1st word that came out of my mouth was "Wow" when I 1st looked at the display...and I'm hardly ever wowed by gadgets.

Dun delay, just grab one and experience it yourself!
