Hi everyone I'm new here.

the power reqmts to charge the ipad is >usual usb port power supply. I hv no problems charging fr imac, my fren using mac book pro also no problem. I have problem with my acer notebk tho. is it becos apple has spec-ed their machines to handle this load and the wintel didn't? thats what i think.

Hi TS, when the screen is on, the iPad draws power from the USB instead of charging the device, unless you have a really high powered usb. Simply put your ipad to sleep mode and the ipad will charge, but you can't see the battery indicator when you are charging.

To charge it quickly or charge it while using it, you have to have one of the newer macs or a pc that has a usb port that outputs 2x the normal power.

Hi TS,
iPad only charge via the 10w charger provided. PC WILL NOT be able to charge unless they are high powered usb( newer Mac ).

If u use PC to charge, u will need to put it to slp.
