iPad Repair Procedure

I would like to check the procedure in getting an iPad repaired. I have a 64GB WiFi iPad (US Set) that has non-functioning volume down button. Reading articles, this should be covered and warranty honored in Singapore.

1) Does the ipad will be replaced altogether or repaired?
2) If it can be repaired instead of exchanged, what would be the lead time?
3) For replacement unit, can we check before we accept the swap (for yellow screen, firmare etc)
4) If it is repaired, will the service centre update the firmware from 3.2 to 3.2.1?

Thanks

I believe they'll just replace the entire set instead of repairing, same with the iPhone. Since it's rather new, why don't you just bring it down to the service centre/give them a call.

Huh? 1 week to test what? They usually give 1 to 1 replacement of their product if defects is found within the first week of purchase. I sent back my iMac 5 days after purchasing it and they immediately replace me with a brand new set from Apple Retailer.

Mine is outside of 1 week and is a US-set. Despite so, I wonder if 1-1 still applies like iPhone or Blackberry warranty?

Also don't want to have Sony policy e.g. when you service PSP, they will upgrade firmware to latest policy and disable JB.

Where to service ? is it Epicenter orchard only?

Should be epi center @ wheelock.

Anyway i overheard the cashier ( who was attending to my payment) epicenter @ 313 sommerset who told an indonesian who want to buy an SG ipad set if he can claim warranty on indonesia, the guy said yes provided the ipad is officially launch in indonesia. If the iPad is not officially launch, no internal warranty claim can be done.

How true is that?

I was also told by a guy at Best Denki Vivo during launch that worldwide warranty for iPad is applicable in countries in which the iPad is officially launched eg Singapore

makes sense right? if Ipad is not launch in that country mean no expertise or parts or new item for 1 to 1 exchange.

1 week to test if there's really a freaking dead pixel on my iPad. I'm like, isn't it obvious?

Anyway I will head down to Wheelock after work to see what they can offer.

Also tell us what they ask for. Like original proof of purchase i.e. the foreign receipt, etc. Thanks.
