It's subjective, or rather, personal preference. For me, I'm satisfied with my iPad 2 wifi version because I can share Internet connection with my iPhone 4. Downside is that it'll drain my iPhone 4 battery faster. However, since I can charge my iPhone while driving, battery drain is not a big concern.

If I want to get a 3G iPad 2, then I hv to consider:
1) 3G model more expensive
2) monthly expense for data charges.
3) if u connect your iPad to iPhone hotspot using wifi connection then u can also download app that r more than 20 mb. Not possible if u r using 3G connection on ur iPad 2.

agreed.
I was considering this as well, but eventually i still go for 3G. Maybe I just wan the convenience & in case in future, i may get multi-sim card.

to add;
It is $180 more for 3G model vs wifi respective to the internal memory sizes.

3G iPad gives me an added option while overseas.
I normally buy a local prepaid SIM in the country in order to go online on iPad, while leaving my iPhone on Singtel SIM to receive important calls or SMSes on my Singapore tel number (without data roaming).

If i had to rely on iPhone hotspot for IPad while overseas, I'd have to either:
a) data roam on my Singtel no, which wld be crazy financially.
b) buy a local prepaid SIM card for the iPhone, so both Iphone and Ipad can get online. But that would mean I would not be able to receive calls/SMSes on my Singapore number.

Just a thought for those who travel frequently.
