i bought my new ipad 3 last month.. it had the same problem..
both singtel and nubox staff said to wait 2 working days before its activated..
so i waited..i was wondering why it didnt show NO SERVICE instead.
after 2 days.. it still showed NO SIM .. so i got pissed.. went down to singtel and ask
they did a few checks... using my sim putting into their phone.. using their sim putting into my ipad... alot of different combinations of testing..

end up... the sim card i received was faulty... basket. -.- and they replaced it
kokhean likes this.

Moral of the story - always try different SIM cards.
