Smile Seeking advise on IPAD 2 purchase

Hi guys have some queries that I hope you guys can help ,

I am currently considering buying a tablet, most likely an Ipad 2 rather than an android one, however, I need some advice to help in my decision.

1. I would like to use my tablet to watch divx videos , is this possible with the Ipad 2? Can I transfer my video files from my PC to my Ipad 2? Or how do I do it? Also, I heard that you have to buy a HDMI dock to connect it to the TV, how much do these things cost on average?

2. Does Ipad 2 have GPS? Or is it just A-GPS? Does it require you to purchase maps?

3. Pricing for Ipad 2, is it standard price island-wide? Is there any place that you recommend I should go to
purchase it?

4. How does the Ipad 2 stack up against the Galaxy tab, another tablet I may be keen on

Thank you!

How do you transfer your videos from your PC to your Ipad?

Does the GPS work without access to the internet?

Thank You

Hi,
Is the AVplayer easy to use and is the result smooth?

Also, the programmes that you listed, any personal experience with them?

Thanks for the help!

TomTom --> quite smooth and not much problem..
Sygic --> run in the background when I exit by pressing the home button. You need to press home button twice and cancel the apps.
Papago --> I use this most of the time... but I do switch to sygic occasionally. For TomTom, seldom use now.

I use Papago when I was in Penang and Phuket... so far no problem.. no need to use network... all maps are downloaded inside the iphone4.

2. Does Ipad 2 have GPS? Or is it just A-GPS?
Just so you are clear, aGPS (assisted GPS) requires you to have GPS in the device. aGPS>GPS as it helps speed up the time it takes to lock onto your location using cell towers.

Only the 3G iPad 2 contain GPS. The Wifi models do not. If you have an iPhone4, you can share the GPS location from the iPhone to the WiFi iPad via the tethered connection between the two. This doesn't work with the 3Gs.

The galaxy tab is pretty cheap nowadays, but it's performance etc is pretty slow compared to lots of other tablets available now.. The iPad 2 is definitely better if you compare it to the galaxy tab.. If you want to choose between a few tablets, I'd recommend you to look at the blackberry playbook, HTC flyer and perhaps the samsung 10.1.. Happy reading up reviews etc!
