I have participated in the mobile payments trial for ABT using Apple Pay. The Device Account Number must be registered by TransitLink before you can use the relevant credit or debit card in Apple Pay for payment of Bus/Mrt.
ic. how did u join the trial?
it just started or going to end? 4 Apr is start date or end date?

this implementation seems not flexible if need to register all virtual numbers separately. that also means u can't tap ur watch then tap ur phone when exit.
one prob is that when ur apple watch suddenly crashes or error, u will stuck at the gate waiting for it to reboot.

no wonder they need to delay the mobile wallet support for so long. a better implementation is to register the main cc number, all virtual numbers linked to the physical card can be used.

Why not be like japan using Suica got a serial number just upload the data
And the serial number on card database is on their server
And TOP up is easy just go to any nfc enabled booth of shop ask for a charge or TOP up
Guess SG wana so their own and don’t look into similarities system like in japan

Guess they want save cost and do it in-house system lor

Agreed to what you have said. We could use the CAN number on the back of the card to scan for rides and etc.

And thus both concessions or adult rider could just pay with their existing ezlink cards, not having to pay adult rides just to use this feature.

Just waiting for LTA to rollout the mobile payments feature for public transport and one can go out with just their phone or even smart watch. If you need to draw money you can even sign up with UOB for an account with a mastercard card and you can survive with just your phone lol.

anyway i still prefer to use credit cards on apple pay more than ezlink/flashpay on apple pay.
sg's implementation is different from other countries as it is account-based, not ad-hoc payment. u have to register an ABT account then only can use the registered card, a bit inconvenient.

Looks thlike the so call cashless scheme up to now it’s like limbo all doing their own cashless app

The gov should keep us citizen update on status

Unfortunately, the demand on such cashless transaction is not even a fraction of the transaction on physical cards..

Look around you in broad perspective, how many of us are using Apple pay Samsung pay Google pay?

As long as we continue to advocate for cashless transactions, soon enough we will get there. I won't bother about the divided platforms of cashless transactions though, cos we just need to focus on one which suits us.

Virtual device transit has already been opened to invited users from various companies involved, including MasterCard and subsidiaries for trial. It's not opened to public and will not be for public until further notice.. you can obtain this info from transitlink customer care, not something restricted..

Woah, yet again our LTA trying to do something different when existing and proven method like Japan, London Tube and recently China also using Apple Pay for transport is already up and running or even Korea with Samsung Pay for transport since 2013 is already live and they can simply look at their implementation.

Sigh...with a different implementation method in our Singapore way of doing thing, it seem like more complicated compare to Japan/London/China. 🤦🏻

At the very least, the project is not dead.

Does the ‘next year’ meant 2019?
