WhatsApp backup to iCloud stuck

Hi, recently I realized that my WhatsApp backup to iCloud will stuck at around 134.1 MB of 2.74 GB (4%) while uploading to iCloud.

My phone is definitely charging and connected to WiFi. Tried:
- re-installing WhatsApp
- Removing WhatsApp data from iCloud
- Force restart
- Signing out from iCloud

Sometimes it resolves by signing out from iCloud but the next back up face the same issue again. Currently running on 12.1, non JB. Any help please?

I’m also facing this issue now. Stuck at 0 byte even if u leave the WhatsApp at the backup page for few hours. Tried the following method.

iOS 12.2, non-JB, non beta WhatsApp,no business WhatsApp installed as well.

- auto lock: never
- force restart
- remove WhatsApp data
- re-installing WhatsApp
- Force restart (not normal restart)
- turning off iCloud backup and back on

Me too mine stucked at 131.7mb. previously 121.xx mb!

iOS12.2 non-JB, non beta whatsapp, no business whatsapp installed

tested many times by
- turning off icloud backup,
- deleted whatsapp icloud copy
- kill app
- restart phone
- turn everything back on
- screen auto lock off

after preparing until 100% uploading stop right at 100+mb section and its just stucked for good. no amount of kill app and restart makes it continue uploading.

I freaking curious is it apple icloud not working. or whatsapp bug

I am on singtel wifi btw if that makes any difference?

When turn off iCloud backup, did you manage to delete the backup in iCloud manage storage? Best to have iTunes backup also for this

Guess we are pretty much in the same boat. Not sure if calling Apple support helps.

I just tried a method and PMed alvino as well to try.

Don't need to log out of your iCloud. Make sure the auto lock is set to "Never"

1. Close all background app
2. Delete the whatsapp backup of 100+mb in iCloud managed storage
3. Turn of iCloud drive
4. Force restart
5. Turn back on iCloud drive
6. Open WhatsApp
7. Go to setting > Chat > it should show "back up now"

After that it goes into preparation and started uploaded. successfully.

Same for me. Donít know which idiot brick this feature. Apple or WhatsApp ? These days app quality damn low even for billion dollar companies.

My iCloud backup daily no issue. My WhatsApp chat backup set to daily but apparently it does not auto back up. I have no issues if I manually backup from WhatsApp. iCloud storage got plenty of space. Anyone having this issue?

I have somehow decided to backup properly for once and leave it till the next time I need it.

For now, just manually use iTunes to backup everything.
