The NEX return tickets are only available from 14 Mar. validity is 14days.
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/pdf/ntrt_150116_e.pdf

Current package is only from NRT to Tokyo at 1500 one way. If you prefer NEX to return to NRT, then u have to buy their regular priced ticket at 2990. Its one of the most expensive way to NRT.

Hi cpuer, Thanks for your reply. As i will be arriving at Haneda Airport. Can i check am i able to purchase the narita express tickets at shinjuku JR service centre?

sure you can. So long as it stops at that station, you can buy it from that JR station
Tickets | Narita Express | JR-EAST
Namely:
Tokyo
Shinagawa
Shibuya
Shinjuku
Ikebukuro
Omiya
Yokohama
Ofuna

That oen is the "pass" where some saving is given. NEX still operates normally just like any other lines.

yes, the discounted single trip ticket will cease from mid march and is replaced with the discounted round trip ticket.
will need to pay the full price of 2990yen for the NEX from Tokyo to Narita. anyway, there wasn't any discount for one-way from Tokyo to Narita previously either, only Narita to Tokyo have discount

Not sure if this is the right place to ask... But I am keen on going for a solo free and easy trip to Tokyo. Planning on taking SQ then lodge there with airbnb.

A few questions, since this will be the first time im going:

1. Is language barrier a huge problem in Tokyo? I've seen several videos of tourists getting stuck because of the language. I don't think a few Jap phrases will suffice.

2. Are Japanese branded items (eg casio watches - planning to buy a few) cheaper in Tokyo compared to SG?

3. Is it a good choice to go solo? Planning to go in early November.

Sorry for bothering. Thanks in advance.

->Not really... learn some basic phrases. Search for my thread on some survival Japanese

->Yes

3. Is it a good choice to go solo? Planning to go in early November.
->Go in pair better. Solo is also ok... Pair in case anything happen, got a companion to discuss.

Sorry for bothering. Thanks in advance.
See above...

If you want to try out solo travel, Japan is a good place to start. The thread below should have lots of information regarding it.

Japan is okay for solo travellers just that you need to be thick skinned and go talk to people if you need stuff or help
