Good morning. Appreciate guidance on the following:

Planning a 7 day trip to cover Osaka, Hiroshima, Miyajima and Kyoto.
Will fly into Kansai airport, take the JR to Kyoto, stay 2 days.
From Kyoto, take train to Hiroshima, stay 2 days.
From Hiroshima, take train to Osaka for 3 days.

Questions:

1. Is the suggested flow as mentioned above correct?
2. Should I buy the JR pass in Singapore to cover the entire trip?
3. If I do not have a JR pass, will it be cheaper to buy the train tickets separately?
4. Anyone knows of any special packages for the flow? (Example ICOCA+JR)
5. JR pass cannot be used for Nozomi and Mizuho. What is the major difference here?

Thank you.

1. flow looks ok
2. u can get the Kansai Hiroshima pass:
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2361_kansai_hiroshima.html

5. these are the fastest shinkansen, but for ur route between Osaka/Kyoto and Hiroshima, the difference is not significant.

3. If u travel to kyoto to Hiroshima and from Hiroshima to osaka taking thru shinkansen. I think the cost of the 5 days JR kansai Hiroshima already covered than u buy the train fare individually.

Hi planning to go Tokyo in November. Any accommodation to recommend for one couple plus one 6 year old? Don't need hotel. Hostel also can as long as 3 of us can squeeze in one room.
Since you mentioned hostel I presume you only want suggestions on the more budget end of the accommodation spectrum?

Can consider AirBnB. Cheap business hotels a bit tricky cos the rooms and bed are super small.

If there is affordable accommodation with reasonable cleanliness, I don't mind budget type.

My friend went Tokyo and was grilled by customs when she could stated a airbnb address. Looks like they are clamping down already

I recall the regulation is that they want to make it so that you can only stay at a AirBnB for a minimum of 7 days

I am going Tokyo this weekend and back after labour day. I see the weather forecast is like around 20°c during this period. I am thinking it's quite chilling, but my colleagues say it's actually quite warm during daytime. Really??? This is my first time to Japan...
