Also based on the website, it shows 1048am got 2 trains at narita express 14? But one of it (the right one) will stop at shibuya while the other will not.

How to tell which train to take at 1048am? Will there be any notice etc?
IMO, these are the trains that split up at certain stn,which is at Tokyo Stn for this case. You need to be at the right car for your destination beyond Tokyo stn that's all.

Hmm confusing.
So if I board the train at T2 (10.48am), once I reached toyko station, do I need to change train or?

For your example, NEX14, 1st section that maybe say contains 5 cars, second section maybe another 5 cars. Both sections are coupled at Narita and when when they reach Tokyo stn, they decoupled. The 1st section when reach Tokyo, it detach itself from section 2 and move on to Yokohama. Second section will be heading to Shibuya/Shinjuku.

So when you bought the tix for Shibuya, the tix will show u cars and seats at second section of the NEX. Second or 1st section is solely my way to explain here. Please follow what your tix is telling u to board.

You are not the only one asked this

I didn't buy mine in advance. I just joined the queue to buy the tickets when I was there. Was able to get the tickets to Shinjuku for the next train on the timetable.

@Ruriel,

Will the queue be long/slow?

@cpuer,

Then how about tyo-kix shinkasen ticket? I think for this it's btr to buy in adv?

Cause I read the nex pass is more expensive and most people won't pick this as they'll prefer keiser skyliner.

I usually get the shinkansen tickets one day in advance. So far no issue. But it's not during the peak season.

BTW, the shinkansen route is here, there's no shinkansen to KIX, the airport. But to Shin-Osaka or Kyoto in Kansai area.

Anyway Japan has the female-only-cabin for their mrt right? Normally which part of the cabin belongs to this? If as a female foreigner with husband wanna enter the cabin, is it allowed? Since no guys are allowed in that, I'm not sure if can be an exception?

Queue is fine. They only allow for purchase of NEX tickets (all other routes have to be bought in other JR East stations) so the queue isn't too bad, unless you have a lot of tourists in front of you keep asking questions.

All shinkansen tickets can be bought one or two days in advance at the JR stations. Don't need to buy in advance online unless it's super peak period? I bought my NEX tickets at the JR station at Narita airport, then bought the rest of my shinkansen/limited express tickets (at one go) at Shinjuku JR East station after I checked into hotel.

i've accidentally entered a female only cabin....the ladies in the cabin didn't care about....and no one seemed to mind...i stayed in the cabin till I reached my destination...maybe I had a benign look.

but i think there's timing.....maybe I boarded when the cabin wasn't designated a female only cabin....but everyone on that cabin I was riding in was a lady...

now u asked about ladies only train, hmm, I couldn't recall seeing one

Imagine if there's one, I don't think your husband can be excused to be in the female only train. It defeats the purpose of segregation if exception are allowed, especially a grown man and not a young boy. Your young son likely is OK, but not hubby/boyfriend. My guess only. But not together for a while cannot ah?

Yes, there is. But those cars are restricted to women only during rush hours. After 930am, anyone is allowed to use these cars.

Men is not allowed to board even if he was your friend or husband.

The nex pass price at online and NRT airport is the same? I'm not sure if it's peak wor... 30th mar considered peak?
