Osaka has pretty nice shopping

u can also visit Minoo park, no like see shrine/temple then go see scenery and nature

I would suggest 3-4 days in Osaka then spend another half of the trip in Tokyo

If you want to have a better time, I would say you should consider removing Hokkaido from your plans.

My advice for lodging in Tokyo is to avoid Shinjuku or Shibuya. Frankly, u get a better deal elsewhere and the distance travel is not really that bad as long as you are near the Yamanote
I don't need a long time in Tokyo and Osaka since my purpose for that is just shop and eat. I'm planning for 4tyo/3osa/10hokkaido.

I stayed shibuya last month... Still not bad just that need climb a slope. That's why I'm gonna start looking for hotels 10mths before my trip hahah

Cause we're not really interested in shrines and mum said she's bored of Kyoto for her previous trip too.

I can't give up on Osaka due to the food
For Food, if you are going to Tokyo then should be enough.
What can be found in Osaka but also be found in Tokyo and quality is even better~

mmm if like this, I would suggest that you fly into Osaka->Chitose->HND/NRT->SG

you can consider drop the tokyo portion unless u got specific things u want to go and eat. Flights in and out of Kansai X then connecting to Chitose should be possible.

I normally just use Osaka as base to go Kyoto and I spend evenings in Osaka. Since you have no interest in Kyoto. There is still a fair amount of see and do in Osaka city.

Wait till your mum try the cheese cake in Hokkaido ...
Got one shop in Hakodate , inside the red brick warehouse....
The cheese cake really champion.... Can only eat there, as it good for that day...
They don't recommend to eat the next day.....

Milk n ice cream in Hokkaido is really very good, among the best....

If u travelling late jan n feb... Tried to go for the ice breaking before next time no more Liao...

What other food u keen to try in osaka ?
Cos in Hokkaido u will have lots of crabs n scallop n tuna....
In tokyo u will have lots of different kinda food at the finest quality...
But the price can be ex but some can be value for money...
Thus it all depends....

Talking

Am planning for an early Nov trip to kansai-hiroshima area.

tentatively here's the schedule - can help me see if it's too tight? I'm traveling alone (4th time to japan, never been to Hiroshima)

Day 1: SIA flight touching down KIX 9.20pm (should i stay at KIX for a night? or take to risk to travel to Osaka? thinking of find accomodation around shinsabashi/yodobashi area)

Day 2: Hang around Osaka, maybe go Minoo park? since its autumn.

Day 3: USJ

Day 4: Himeji + Kobe

Day 5: Hiroshima - is miyajima worth going in autumn? (staying at Hiroshima)

Day 6: Hiroshima (peace park, hiroshima castle, downtown) - travel to Kyoto

Day 7: Kyoto (day trip since it's near to osaka)

Day 8: Kyoto

Day 9: Taking early flight out

This is super rough outline. havent really booked anything yet. just browsing because now SIA tickets are about 770+ for the period i'm looking at. And for railway pass, i think the one most suitable is JR Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass? I just activate from Day 4 to day 8.

Let me know all your thoughts!

Hmm if fly into KIX means I need to take sq? I anti sq~! Haha it's not cheap also.

I doubt I'm dropping neither..

So will it be better if I go this way?

SG>TYO>OSA>CTS?

Does CTS got flights go Seoul?

Do they have ichiran ramen in hokkaido?

mmm why not SIN->NRT/HND->CTS->Osaka->SIN??

flying domestic is not very bad but spending so much time in airport is a major pain in the neck imo

why look for only 1 ramen chain?

Hokkaido got their regional styles of ramen also

If you interested, u can try the ippundo in Hokkaido (honshu also have btw )

I'm actually thinking of flying in to CTS first cause I heard Hokkaido got nothing much to buy (more of eating), so I don't need to pull my luggage to Tokyo.

If flying in go Tokyo>Osa, I'm scared those snacks might expire soon.

Is it true that hokkaido won't have things to buy? Hmm in terms of food to bring home or clothes?

My own experience is Hokkaido is mostly snacks and foodstuffs. All kinds of dairy products, chocolates and pastries and seafood/fruits related foodstuffs.

For fashion and accessories, I feel Tokyo and Kansai area have a much more vibrant and diverse scene. Basically too many things to buy haha.

If you don't buy much during the trip, the airport alone should have most of what you need to buy. New Chitose airport is ridiculously good for all your snacks and food souvenirs. Not to mention many restaurants and themed areas for amusement.

Sorry to ask silly question but which card should I get when I get into Tokyo: Pasmo or Suica? I will only travel within Tokyo but like to buy the card at Narita airport and return the card at Haneda airport. Where can I check the ticket office operating hour ?

But will these products similar to Tokyo's with short expiry date?
