depends on your tolerance for cold imo
I would suggest layering up enough, you can still remove coat indoors, gloves and beanie go a long way keeping you warm

you got check if the dates you want are still available? I am not sure why the site will break

unless they do not sell overseas which is strange
will tokyo, kyoto or osaka snow?

i don't know man. the date is available. wanted to get the starlight tix on 24th dec but transaction always got declined.

xmas is not a holiday in japan, so shops/restaurants are all opened.
how about new year? heard from my friends it's usually a quiet event whereby the locals just stay indoor to celebrate?

Itís my first time to japan (Tokyo) and visiting with Sister + mum
We r taking Ana so will reach in the morning

I understand USP is at Osaka however my Sister is a fan of Harry Potter so just want to check if this iternary is workable?

Itís 9 days 8 night

Day 1
Arrive -> Yokohama -> cup noodle museum, ramen museum
Day 2
Yokohama > Chinatown > Fujiko F Fujio Museum
Day 3 & 4
Yokohama > Osaka
Cover USP and dotonbori
Day 5&6
Osaka > Tokyo
Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, Shibuya pedestrian scramble, Ginza, Meiji Jingū shrine, Nakamise, Pokemon centre tokyo, Sanrio puroland
Day 7
One day trip to mt Fuji, pirate ship & Gotemba premium outlet (buying tickets in viator)
Day 8
Disneyland
Day 9
Shopping and flight in evening

Is it advisable to go both Skytree and tower? Or one will do? How should I plan my route to cover all these or Any suggestion? And which station should we stay near to in Tokyo? Any hotel to recommend ? Budget around max $190 per night

Dreamydreamzz,

Maybe your air tickets are open jaw. Not sure on how you plan your itinerary but take note Yokohama and Tokyo are very near to each other.

Kansai (Osaka/Kyoto) region is far from Tokyo.

It would be more efficient to complete activities that are near to each other first before departing to another prefecture. Once you are done with Osaka you can travel directly to Tokyo airport to take your flight home.

If I fly on budget airlines or have open jaw air tickets. According to your itinerary I will arrive in Tokyo and depart from Osaka or vice versa.

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE:
Tokyo Tower is currently undergoing renovation during which the tower's upper deck (250m) will remain closed. In addition, renovation works are carried out on the tower's main observatory (150m), during which the observatory remains open, but one of its four sides will be closed. The work is estimated to last until around spring 2019.
see if you still ok to go, just the main deck is fine imo.

i didn't go up to skytree bcos i find it ex. just took photos below the tower.

these cities do not snow much, historically but mostly if snow it is not very heavy. Even under crazy climate it would really be extreme

New Year's day activity is as follow
Party on the eve
Go temple and offer prayer
Go Imperial Palace cos it is open on Jan 2 https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3017.html

some shops (emphasis on some) will be open.

your hotel may have some activities during Jan 1

I find that 9 days to Cover Osaka, Tokyo & Yokohama is quite tight.

Especially, Universal Studios & Disney land are 1 day affair & Sanrio puro land and Pokemon center could take you more than half a day to cover.

How would you be travelling to Osaka from Tokyo? If you might be keen, save time by taking night bus to Osaka and have a 2 night there before heading back to Yokohama and lastly Tokyo.

Day 1 Tokyo
D2 Osaka
D3 Osaka
D4 Osaka
D5 Yokohama
D6 Tokyo
D7 Tokyo
D8 Tokyo
D9 Tokyo

or maybe you can replace D6 with Yokohama and have another day in Osaka?

Day 1
Arrive at Narita
Train to Yokohama
hotel > cup noodle museum > ramen museum > Chinatown > back to hotel

Day 2
Activate JR pass for 7 days
Check out > Train to Osaka > check in hotel > nara ( deer park ) > dotonburi > back to hotel

Day 3
USJ

Day 4
Osaka > Kyoto > bamboo forest + Fushimi Inari shrine

Heard there is 15mins express train to Kyoto from Osaka is it cover by JR pass?

Shinsaibashi > back to hotel

Day 5
Check out > Train to Tokyo
Sanrio Puroland > Pokemon centre > Shibuya at night

Day 6
Disneyland

Day 7
Tokyo Tower > Tsukiji fish market > Ginza

Day 8
Meiji Jingū shrine > Gotemba premium outlet > Shibuya at night

Day 9

This would be much better..

Day 7 , probably you can start early with Tsukiji and Ginza and end with Tower? unless you would want pics of tokyo tower in daylight, or you could head over around 3/4pm to tower so you can catch both day and night pics!

You might want to swap Day 6 to 7, if you start Tsukiji at 7/8am as Disneyland would be a whole day thing.. and you would not want to tire yourself the following day.

Well as for your previous question of JR Pass or Overnight bus, its based on cost savings, because for overnight bus, you save on 2 nights of hotel in Japan. It also depends if you can sleep in bus or if you have kids..

Ah ok! I will swap.

Iím travelling with my mum (in her 40s) and my Sister ( both of us early 20s) so itís fine to do overnight travel .
However I checked the bus/train does not seems that cheap.

Like train if we want individual room twin itís $100+ As JR pass does not cover room..
And bus I saw was like $40+ one way?

Considering the fact we can find accommodation like $180 per night for 3 it seems like thatís not much saved..

when you land? If you are in Tokyo early enough you can still catch the festival/bazaar at Asakusa Sensoji I recall it ends on the 19th

party depends on how you like to celebrate

if your group is small, a mini christmas party isn't that bad an idea. Get into the Japanese tradition of fried chicken for christmas
