Ah ok! I will swap.

Iím travelling with my mum (in her 40s) and my Sister ( both of us early 20s) so itís fine to do overnight travel .
However I checked the bus/train does not seems that cheap.

Like train if we want individual room twin itís $100+ As JR pass does not cover room..
And bus I saw was like $40+ one way?

Considering the fact we can find accommodation like $180 per night for 3 it seems like thatís not much saved..
haa.. cos i was estimating for 1 room to be in the range of 300$ in prime area lol..

If that is the case, then perhaps you can stick with your JR pass plans..

The rest I think you can manage after swapping day 6/7.

Well you need to lug your luggage around eh.. thats a hassle unless you can drop it off at the tokyo hotel and inform them of your check in date.. and just bring 1 luggage for you 3 ppl =D

Have stayed in shinjuku area. Have few big shopping Malls and biggest station which daily can be busy station in Tokyo. Foods also have a lot near station. There is a bus interchange on TOP of building in case you plan to visit Mt Fuji.

If youíve got a tight budget, consider Asakusa, Ikebukuro or Ueno. Not everyone likes Shinjuku - too busy, too crowded.

Iíve stayed in some areas - Marunouchi, Shiodome, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Odaiba, Asakusa. Each has its cons and pros.

Generally people prefer to stay either Namba or Umeda.

I stayed none of the above mentioned areas during my trip since my main aim at that time was on Tenjin Matsuri.

Best choice should be umeda but namba (or tennoji) might have cheaper options.
