Nikko 1 is a JR Line using Tobu rails. So i think you can only purchase using JR booking system.

Although can book online, easier to go physical buy ticket when you reach Japan. Normally Trains will not sold out unless golden week those period
thanks for the info.

more worried is the KIX.

The only bridge and train track damaged by the stupid vessel crashing to the bridge.

Now unknown when can fix. some people saying 1 month, some up to 6 months.

If the latter, then my plan will be impacted severely. Haruka train from Kyoto to KIX for departure early morning.

Wife saw on HK news..They reported up to a month as CX was allowing passenger within this 1 month window to rebook their flights.

Meanwhile, i guess we can just continue to monitor. My return is on 4th Nov.

Just monitor luh. At most change to another airport. Coz cannot be kix totally shut down due to that bridge with no alternatives. Osaka and the region will suffer sia.

Insurance would have been great help now.

Any insurance to recommend? Some say Income is easier to claim compared to AIA. I am not sure about their coverage and fine lines. Probably about the same?

I’ve never heard of easy claim process for Income as to AIA.

i think there was the recent issue regarding fine lines aia/aig had. which disallowed a claim even when there was a flight delay. (something like they dont cover delays due to mechanical issues. only operational issues - which is highly unlikely)

So far my experience and those of my fren's were positive for income. So far no problem with claim.
Unlike my experience with some other insurance, flight delay with letter from airline, still got a hard time claiming
