Hello! I'll be at Osaka for 7 days from 27th onwards. Any day trips you'd recommend? So far will definitely spend 2 or 3 days in Kyoto and considering Himeji Castle and Mt Yoshino. I've been to Nara previously. Thanks!

500mb daily limit on a JP sim shld be enough? Found a JP sim card in qoo10 that allows selection of precise days. For my case, 9 days 500mb daily limit cost $19.90. With $0.40 shop coupon and $5 cart, it will be $14.50 total. Further $4 off with qpoints. So $10.50 shld b a good deal le??

No one knows how much data you will need except yourself.

For me, 500mb daily confirm plus chop not enough at all. But there are some who can easily survive with 500mb. So it's really up to individual.

So i think i've narrowed down hotels.. still unsure.
Wanna stay in Shinjuku, anyone have experiences with:
Sunroute hotel plaza (on top of the Station)
Hotel Gracery
daiwa roynet hotel nishi (by nishi shinjuku mrt)

All are pretty much within the same price range, im leaning towards gracery

With families, sunroute will be nice. With friends, Gracery has more action around the area. Daiwa a bit too far although still walking distance.

Sunroute is about 5mins walk from the Southern terrace, down a flight of stairs or across a bridge and use the escalator. Century Southern Hotel is along the Southern terrace. Do read the reviews, some feedback that the rooms assigned are small and cramp, which I have experience once out of 3 stays, I always choose twin bed instead of a single queen size bed. I heard the new JR Kyushu Bloom is nice, I have stayed in their hotel in Hakata before.

tx. Reviews say sunroute rooms are tiny and a bit outdated, i.e shower is not nice.
Bloom and Century are a bit expensive at $300-+ pn compared the $200/220 at the others.

So far the twin bed rooms are much larger but I do believe they have diff sized rooms. I particularly like sunroute for its location.

Iíve stayed in Sunroute and Kyushu Bloom. As VD mentioned, the rooms are fine so long as you donít get a semi-double room. Many hotels in JP classify single rooms as semi-double rooms. Always compare the room size when making selections. For me, I would prefer Kyushu Bloom as it was a newer hotel (3 yr+ old) compared to Sunroute. Itís an above-average JR business hotel.

Yeah i've been looking at room sizes very closely

The doubles all look tiny as you say.
Gracery for example : double (1,4m bed) = 15sqm , $950 total
Twin room = 24sqm , $1100

Blossom = 19sqm (1.6m bed) = $1150 on offical site - $959 on agoda... not bad actually

blossom maybe worth it for that extra bit of $ and newer hotel, closer to train.
