Yes. But you can catch fully bloomed sakura at Miurakaigan station. Kawazu area probably another couple more days but some are fully bloomed too.

saw sakura starting to bloom in Kyoto already thou not full bloom yet.
must be a magnificent sight next month!!

Weathernews 4th round update

North Japan. Average timing

East Japan. Average timing except Hokuriku will be late
West Japan. Average timing to early

For Tokyo, Uneo predicted full bloom on 30th March.
Yasukuni Shrine on 28th March. Sakura will start falling around 4th April
For Kyoto. Kiyomizu full bloom 3rd April and falling 9th April.

Time to finalise my itinerary. Flying to Tokyo end of this month. Hopefully can catch some Sakura in Tokyo before going to Kyoto at start of April.

I hope the prediction will turn out to be correct. I will be in Tokyo from 31/3 to 4/4 and Kyoto from 4/4 to 8/4. Fingers crossed.
