Addendum to my original post, the irony is their angus prime is better done, more juicy and more flavourful than the grade 5 wagyu.

Unfortunately, they do not appear to be grilling the steaks anymore. The surface lacks grill marks and has the characteristics of being fried. It is rather dry with inconsistent doneness and rather tough. It can only be considered a waste of meat.
Doh ... even for the wagyu? Thanks for the review. *phew, barossa off the list of buffets i wanna try*

Hmmm, can say the wagyu was lousy and the angus prime was good? T-bone? Overall, still worth going?

Grade 5 wagyu considered quite good quality liao wor. Its really a pity it came out dry and rather tough Really a waste of good meat like you said.

Hmmm, wagyu considered better than angus prime meh? Not really right? Assuming both were cooked equally well. Both have their own strs?

The conclusion is correct. In terms of pure hunger situation, there are cheaper ways to fill up. In terms of gastronomical enjoyment, I'd rather patron somewhere else like Black Angus or even Aston's if we are considering the wagyu alone.

Hmmm, if considering the overall package? The angus prime was good. At $51.70 nett, i am guessing it is not worth it?

Steaks are prepared ala minute, so the skill of the chef cooking it matter a great deal. If the ones at centrepoint are lousy, maybe you get them to recommend you another better branch. I think twtan said the one near his house is quite good?

Thats the problem with restaurants with multiple branches. Hard to maintain consistent quality. Having a central kitchen helps, but has its problems too, and not everything can prepare at central kitchen.

I have pretty good steaks at Cathay branch. No queue when I reach before 12pm on weekends. However, they can be rather slow. No complaints about the steak quality and price. I have tried at flagship outlet along East Cosst Road and Auston Express at Bedok Central. Somehow the standard not as good. But still acceptable.
