Arrow JB's Food Trip

Planned this trip a couple of weeks ago to go Tian Lai for dinner.

The Pasar Malam was not in the plan but since we were still early, we dropped in for a visit. This one is purely Malay stores only and was for them to break their fast. By the time we reached around 7pm, some of the stores were already packing up to go home.

Chickens cooking in these huge earthen pots.

We bought and ate some mutton satays plus a few other food items. The satay cost RM0.40 a stick only. This uncle gave us the hot satays fresh off the grill instead of those in the tray.

They even got grilled chicken parts and beef liver.

BBQ Chicken - Toons bought the chicken, and he said it's nice.

Another Banana Leaves BBQ Fish store.

Kambing soup - Just got to try this after looking at BigMoneky's pictures.

Crabs with Salted Egg Yorks - The salty egg yorks complimented the crab nicely. One of the favourites of the night.

Black Pepper Crabs - I find the black pepper overwhelm the crab taste.

Flower Grouper Nyonya Style - Not as nice as the SeaBass we had the previous trip. Although the Grouper meat is firmer and more Q but not as sweet tasting as the Seabass.

Pork Ribs with Beer - You can faintly smell the beer but once you put a piece in your mouth the beer flavour was much more distinct.

Stir-fried Sweet Potato Leaves - Tender leaves and slightly crunchy stems and definitely not fibrous. Thumbs up for this dish.

Big Head (Mussel) - It's a long time since I last ate this.

Egg Omelette with Oysters - Comes with sambal chilli.

Sambal Chilli Crabs - I actually preferred this type of dry chilli crab over the wet version and this dish does not disappoint. The fragrant of the sambal chilli just make my appetite even better. Between this and the Salted Egg Yorks version, I just cannot decide which is better so I will take both anytime.

After that we went shopping at Jusco. Bought a box of three Magnum Chocolate Truffle which I have not seen before in Singapore. Instead of Vanilla ice cream inside, this one is chocolate with a layer of Chocolate Truffle in the center.

My friend bought a pack of these preserved fruits to share among ourselves.

Then LoveJade was craving for A&W so we got to share this curly fried and waffle.

After some shopping, we are off to eat the Abalone Noodle.

Lok Lok - We didn't try this one as we have found a better one elsewhere. Pictures coming up toward the end.

Restoran 59 Abalone Noodle

Some Ice Jelly and Glass Jelly to quench our thirst.

The Noodle, so good that you can eat it on its own.

The soup consisted of Prawn (we asked for no prawn), Abalone slice, oysters, minced meat and fish balls. Very sweet taste and you can ask for refill of the soup.

We dropped by this durian store but by then I could no longer eat anymore so the rest continued their feast. This Prince of Durian sure know how to sell his durians, and in no time we cleared all those you seen here minus some no good ones.

On the way back, we stopped to top up petrol and two friends decided to buy some foods from this Lok Lok van home.

Look at all these items, so many varieties to choose from.

The boss look so happy, must be making tons of money.

Then it's home sweet home and by the time we reach Singapore, it's already 1am plus. Thanks to Donkey and OrLengJuz for driving us around.
