Question Anyone brought their Burmese helper to Malaysia before? Need visa?

Hi! Anyone brought their Burmese helper to Malaysia before? Need visa for her?

Where would be the most cost-effective and efficient place to apply for said visa, if needed?

Thank you in advance!

I believe so.

I remember a friend going to a travel agency in People's Park to apply for a 1-year visa for his helper.

I've no details, but yes, Burmese helper will need visa to visit Malaysia.

Burmese required visa. I just applied for her and got 1 yr visa validity.

You can approach WTS for the Visa application. It cost like 50-60 bucks and it take abt 2 weeks to obtain.

Ownself answer ownself:

1) Myanmar passport-holders require social visit visa for entry into Malaysia

2) Malaysian embassy does not entertain individual walk-in for the application. Need to go through approved/accredited agencies. There is a list on the Internet. Google it.

3) I went to the WTS Travel agency at Our Tampines Hub last Tuesday night, after seeing the cost listed online.

- visa fee $10 + service fee $52.10 (total $62.10)

- need to bring the applicant's passport, work permit & one passport-sized photo. Applicant need not be present..

- there will be an application form to be filled in at the counter. Can be signed by the employer.

- passport will be retained by the agency, to be sent to the embassy. Passport photo will obviously be used in the application. Work permit will be returned after a photocopy of it is made.

- multiple-entry visa up to a year, but subject to embassy's approval. My helper's visa is valid for 8 months, as her work permit ends then.

- received a call on Monday that the passport can be collected (6 days turnaround).

- visa fee may be refunded if the application is rejected by the embassy.
