Actually if your room is a non-complimentary one, then just treat yrself like any other foreign tourist checking in - just armed with a passport.

If u hv not been up there for so long - say more than 3 years (yours is 4 years??), chances are yr card will not be up-to-date anyway (as many newer versions had been issued since), thus might face problem at the self-service kiosk (tho there are assistants to help out).

Best is to q up at the hotel check-in counter if the q is not too long.... otherwise, u can try yr luck at the kiosk with the assistance fr hotel staff..no need to fear as they will reroute u to hotel counter in case u face any issues.

Genting membership card is not really a pre-requisite...imagine how overseas tourist check in to hotel with just a passport without need for any membership card. Thus, u dun really need to get it updated yet prior to chk-in unless u need the very little rewards points earned fr hotel.

Whether kiosk can process or not with just passport and without the card, may be other bro's can share their experience.

They do scan your passport if you are not local when registering your casino membership. Of course the IC detail is found in passport. However, I don't really know which information from the scanned image that they really use for reservation matching.

Yes, membership counter outside the casino.
Yup tourism tax. No need pay using GP. Cash is fine!

If unable to check in at the auto kiosk, you can always proceed to the normal manual counter manned by their staffs to do it.

Tks for the tips..my room 1st 2 days complimentary, 3rd day redeemed with GP.

I'll find out on the day itself and update here. So excited and looking forward to the trip. :)

The person who book the room must scan passport. Cannot use the Genting card. I tried last year with the card and hit error. The kiosk attendent told me person booking must scan passport. But if need 2 keys the second person can use card instead of passport.

The kiosk is quite impressive. Allows you to select 1 key or 2 key, queen bed or twin bed. This part free. Subject to availability, can pay RM5 EACH for mountain view, high floors, near lift, specific floor, non smoking (this one don't pay because people still smoke), connecting room.

Early check-in :
6 - 9am RM20
9am to 12pm RM10
12pm to 3pm RM5

I think the queen/twin selection is fake. On my last trip, I selected Queen but ended up still gave me Twin.

Are you really able to select multiple options? I did not have the mountain view option but I was only able to select EITHER high floor OR near lift but not BOTH.

The early check-in surcharge used to RM5 flat. Genting really know how to squeeze money from us. :s27:

Queen/twin works for me so far.

Mountain view option if not shown means the available rooms all don't have mountain view.

I always want mountain view + near lift. In the first selection screen they only allow you to choose either one. But there is a button "More options" which will show the package mountain view + high floor + near lift for RM15.

This is what I like about the kiosk. If I see no mountain view room (provided the room type have mountain view), I will cancel and try again like 30 min later. The LCD above the kiosk shows the number of rooms available for each room type. Can use that to gauge.

I only go off peak like weekdays so not so bad.

I ok with noise. Still can sleep. No noise and quiet long corridor more scary.

Usually stay Y5 triple. The lift still some distance. Never choose near lift for deluxe. I choose that and the room is really next to the lift and corridor area. So more give me lvl 8 tower 2 where there is more traffic along the corridor.

Not fake. I just came back, selected and got that. I think it all depends on the availabilty off rooms.

If check in too early or too late, not many rooms avail as people still not yet check out.

BTW, the self check in kiosk only requires passport to check in. New passport also no problem.
