The same App you used to book yr genting hotel.
You check in using yr handphone, then scan QR code at the digital key kiosk to get yr digital key.
The system is still not so mature, as you still need to scan your passport or ID at the digital kiosk to verify. Also, you need to have internet connection either wifi or mobile .
ya the digital key quite functional. just that i needed to wake the app and activate the key before entering the elevator to access my floor else lose internet conn inside the elevator sometimes. that was my experience the previous trip.

u r our man lah..................heng heng soon soon li li

pre covid ETG is to chiong pts only for me

but now ETG actually quite nice to relax n play when tables are full

Deep early in the morning, the ETG operators at Gold Club, turning the roulette when the tables were almost all empty, I was the only regular player sitting there on my lucky seat from 3am to 5am, occasional sitters, but they left less than 15mins..

I played until 5+am when the Peace Cafe opened, dim sum sets was available.

Even when lots of crowds in plaza mall, i felt the casino customers not as much as pre-covid days..
I can easily find seat in "hot" jackpot games (Lighning, Lucky, Mighty Cash etc..)
Last time i need to loiter around poor-luck gamers in order to take their game machines

It is the traditional tables games like the old fashioned roulette that there is a serious shortage of place to play.

If there is 2 or 3 person sharing a room, last time ask for more physical key cards. With this digital key, all 3 need to use the app as key ?

FWH T3 rooms require the card insertion for power. The other hotels like Highlands, G. Grand and Crockfords rooms all have card slots for power activation. The counter staff in Highlands always ask if I want dummy cards in the past. I will use my member card as room key to reduce the number of cards that I carry around.

I checked in using the ddigital key app, but couldnt scan QR due to passport issue. In the end, still got the physical key. However, the check in through App is better than the kiosk.

To me , digital or physical key doesnt matters. I used it to avoid the queue.

With so many check-in issue due to change of passport, has anyone considered to bring and try using the old Passport (since old one returned to you with the punched holes) or photostated copy to check-in?

i have thought of that, but i doubt it can be processed as we are visitors to their country. passport not in activation doubt can use la cos that's the only "link" to us as travelers

Don't think their system is linked to the immigration or smart enough to know if a passport is active/inactive. Otherwise even if passport changed the issue would not have happened. The kiosk would probably scan and recognise the info found on the passport and try to find a match against their database. That's why when their staff helping at the kiosk updated your info you will be able to check-in.

Which is more troublesome? The newer passport now has 10 years expiry. Just update the info into the system one time pain versus you have to always remember to bring the old passport and to remember to use it to check in everytime you travel to Genting?

It is to avoid the need to go through long queing/waiting time during check-in or membership card update. The new passport number can get updated later when queue is shorter or at a more convenient time. This issue will still happened 10yrs later if their system only rely on passport number as the main primary key.

What you have suggested is only postulation, not tried and tested. If it does not work, you will still need to get the information updated. Just wait for you or others to update whether foreigners may update foreign NRIC in their system or check in successfully using the passport as discussed previously.
