From my understanding, the stalls will usually pack your baw kwa in a crackers or other non-pork packaging. Then again, I have never bought any and took public transport out. I guess there’s only one way for you to find out.

Don't forget the customs officers are mostly locals too, so they'll be in the know of how the fake packaging is going to be.

Remember how they once used silver foil packs to counter the scanning? I was bringing back some Anlene milk powder packs (folded away the boxes and all I was left with, plain foil packs and was asked to open my bag. Luckily I kept those boxes next to them.

You guys are right, seems like if you taking bus or train, very tough to smuggle anything out.

Anyone knows hows the traffic during CNY? I think last year not much traffic right. I believe many shops will be open as not many people celebrate CNY nowadays.

Are you allowed to eat on the spot then? Cos why waste food and money. I find it is quite an out dated rule as most of our chicken at ntuc/sg came from malaysia and KFC is deep fried. I taobao many times KFC / Pizza / donuts also never kena. If kena I would choose to eat on the spot.

Those in malls should all be out already by now, especially popular ones like KSL and City Square.
