Carry Forward of Unused Internet Quota shall only be valid if your Internet Plans are auto-renewed.

I wonder how many of us here stay there long enough for it to happen.

When something sounds too good to be true, it's good to check out the FAQ and T&C:

https://www.xpax.com.my/magic_internet_faq
https://www.xpax.com.my/internettnc

Nice detective work bro.. not easy to reach those links from the magic sim page..:D the plans like very complicated with all the internet quota, validity extension.. trying to find a method to suit my needs lol

Both links are just down the page:

https://www.xpax.com.my/magicsim

Bearing FUP (Fair Usage Policy) in mind, it's always good to check these 2 links unless you like "surprises".

Ya.. But the faq from down the page goes to https://www.xpax.com.my/magic_web_faq and not the https://www.xpax.com.my/magic_internet_faq which you gave and yours mention about the autoreload but the web_faq doesn't... :D

Ah, if you want to know more about the mobile internet (carry forward), then you'll first have to go to the MI link that says Internet Plan From As Low As RM1, then go to the FAQ there. It all depends on what specifics you want to clarify, need to read up on those stuff.

I actually went through the Magic SIM website and links well before I finally bought one. =:p

Guys , I used to subscribe to singtel $10/1GB monthly but i find i not always go in JB, thus wasted 2months of sub as i only went in once during the 2 months. If just need internet, which card cheapest? Tron or Xpax? the card can last how long?

Cheapest? Cheapest to buy the SIM pack (Celcom Magic SIM of XPAX RM5), or cheapest to maintain the line (unless you use and throw), or cheapest calls/SMS or data? Or cheapest way (convenience) to buy?

Also depends on your needs (more on callls/SMS or data, etc), and where you frequent (Malaysia is much bigger than SG, so not all corners are covered by any one telco).

Best way is to go through the discussion in this thread (or others around), unless you can settle for bits and pieces of suggestions based on your actual needs (better that you list them here).

Every minimum top-up of RM10 gives you a validity of 365 days from that date.

Thjanks bro , yeah mostly frequent JB only. Cheapest in term of DATA, rarely use call. so if top up 10rm, that 10rm wont expire for 1 yr which is very good. so if go in 1night , just activate rm1/30mb/day , only need 2rm for 2 days.

feel tron is best choice for u too.. if example going long trip malaysia than get another sim , than tron as usual backup for short trip.

almost no brainer for everyone to have a tron sim as backup sim for short trip or in case cant get sim in time like too rushing for time. at rm1 per 1 day of internet , almost no need think

long trip i go for something 4G LTE, personal opinion, short trip like go jb i use tron coz 3g doesnt matter, dont use much anyway

personally i do not use TRON for long trip, but my wife is ok, since she only whatsapp and check in facebook, how much data can that use

different user diff usage, use diff card. so i say get the tron basic card first, than decide later what else. afterall the credit today not used, can use another day, doesnt matter!

Weekly is RM5 150MB, so yup, just throw it into the other slot of your dual SIM phone - very good for Whatsapp standby. Tron doesn't have autoroaming though, so I normally just turn that SIM slot off when I'm back here.

http://www.tron.com.my/tron-lite-sim-rates/

Just remember to stop the auto-renewal or you might find your SIM with RM0 if you forget and do it only after midnight of the end of the subscription period. Unlike Celcom XPAX and maybe also Maxis Hotlink, your data subscription will end at the point of auto-renewal stoppage, instead of the end of the actual subscription period.

Unless/if you think you'll need better coverage or more data for a longer trip, just grab another SIM from one of the other telcos.

Other telco prepaid cards also has RM1/day mobile internet package; just got to look for it.

for tron if u really really forgot to turn off the data subscription, there are many places you can go to have TRON signal

for example, yishun dam, sembawang park, east coast park, etc

places more accessible by mrt : Kranji mrt platform, Bugis junction rocher road exit, Marina south pier mrt exit and go near the sea, there are more..

last but not least, just email them to cancel

It's up to your needs whether Tron is enough for you on trips longer than a day.

I personally have a few different telco cards which I use according to my needs. Tron is mainly used for Whatsapp standby for my SG account, and I use the others for surfing, etc..

Only Maxis Hotlink's daily MI doesn't auto-renew and it lasts for a real 24-hour instead of up to midnight for Tron, Digi, and Celcom.

You can continue to use Celcom's data until midnight if you cancel the auto-renewal before that, but not for Tron and Digi which will stop at the point of cancellation.

With Tron, I sometimes don't bother to subscribe to the data package but instead just use PPU (pay-per-use) for low usage like Whatsapp during a day trip. Doesn't cost much, anyway, and don't have to bother with cancelling the auto-renewal.
