7-11 and umobile belong to the same owner. i would exclude umobile from consideration. previously you could not get hotlink or digi from the mainstream convenience store chains in malaysia. mostly mnvo's.

whether the push for digi live is out of desperations or not, it doesnt matter to us. the important thing is that it offers singaporeans cheap (rm4.44 per gb) and easy access to data when in malaysia
How to get rm4.44 pet GB?

rm8 credit gives you 8x300mb = 2.4gb
new card comes with 300mb preloaded.

retail price = rm12

rm12 / 2.7gb = rm4.44 per gb

Hi guys,

Any idea where to get Tron sim card in JB? The dealer addresses shown in the Tron website don't seems to be accurate, all showing residential/industrial areas in Google street view.

As far as I can remember, no one here has shared success in getting it from JB ... not even Melaka. Those addresses on their website may not even be updated, as I recall someone having contacted a couple of them without any positive result.

You might want to contact Tron directly and get them to give you an address that really works.

If you want to get the tron sim, I would suggest the mailing option.

I think the postal charges is RM30 to Singapore.

Is there a need to de-register expired prepaid sim? I seem to recall there being a limit on the number of sim cards one can buy

And are there any long life prepaid to recommend? I visit Malaysia once every 2 to 3 months. Anything that won't cost more than RM50 to maintain yearly? My usage is mostly data (90%), minimal phone usage (10%) required. Thanks

No de-registration for prepaid required, and I don't think there's any provision for it either. Limit for MY prepaid is total of 10 from any telcos.

MVNO OneXOX (Celcom network) gives 28-month validity with RM10 reload done within 24 hours after registration and activation.

Check the last few pages here for discussions on it, or visit the XOX website for information on the OneXOX prepaid plan. Registered dealer available locally, can be found in the Travel Bazaar here.

Cheapest option I can think of, for long validity.

There is Tron seller here in HWZ

check below

after you get the sim card from him, you can contact Tron customer service to change the simcard to your name.

Tron is still very good to certain group of people with low usage and free 365 days validity extend with min rm10 topup.

i have 4 XOX sim and 2 Tron sim.

data plan daily rm1 for 30mb 3G speed and unlimited 2G data speed.

2G speed can work for whatsapp text.
