Yup, DiGi has improved lots on their coverage.

For those 4 days in Melaka, can just choose Hotlink or DiGi depending on your usage pattern and whatever freebies you can dig from a new SIM pack.

Where would be a good place to get Prepaid Sim card from JB City Square Mall/Linkway?

Looking at Digi Best or its equivalent from other telcos. Planning to use for one day nia.

Thanks!

There's only 1 newstand that I can think offhand and that's the one near the JB Sentral bus bay. They normally sell DiGi cards at RRP, if that one sells them.

Hotlink at RRP, can try the Maxis shop in City Square. Or someone did mention here that one dealer in JB Sentral was selling for RM15.

The DiGi dealer in JB CIQ once quoted me RM20 for DiGi Best with a credit balance of RM15. Not sure about now but no harm asking if you're passing there. The dealer in the JB Sentral's main hall (somewhere facing the tourist info counter) quoted something like RM20 or RM25 with RM5 credit balance.

Anyway, without wasting too much time, I'd personally go for one of these DiGi Best since initial validity is 30 days and you can always lent it to a family member or friend to use for the rest of the period.

Ok. This is for those who are using or considering the XOX card.

It has been proven that its 4G signal and speed is good in West Malaysia including inside Genting casino where most of DiGi users lost total cell and data signal.

Now, arriving this noon into Sarawak, East Malaysia.

First time using the XOX card here.

Well, the XOX 4G is as strong as in West Malaysia... Awesome XOX card. No horse run!

Withdrew a 350MB/7 Days from my season pass for my 3 days stay. If I used up the 350MB, I simply just withdraw another 350MB/7 Days from my season pass again on the spot to continue. No disruption at all.

Digi best prepaid

Passive / inactive period for DIGI Best is 75 days.

SIM Card Lifecycle
  • Upon activation of a SIM card, the status of SIM card will be updated to Active state that will last for a 30 (thirty)-day period. Active state means a Customer is allowed to make outgoing and incoming calls or sms or any type of services including Internet access.

  • If there is no reload activities performed after the Active state and with credit balance available in the SIM card, then a Customer will not be able to use any Digi services, but is able to receive incoming calls and sms.

  • If during the Active state but before end of Active state validity period, a Customer has utilized all the credit balance, then a Customer will not be able to use any Digi services, but is able to receive incoming calls and sms.

  • Number of days given to a Customer to receive incoming calls and sms is 75 (seventy five) days upon expiry of Active state validity period, but no outgoing transactions are allowed unless reload is performed.

  • Upon reaching 75 (seventy five) days validity period, if there is still no reload activities performed, the status of SIM card will be changed to Suspended (R2) whereby a Customer will not be allowed to receive incoming or outgoing calls or sms except for automated sms from Digi.

  • Upon the following day of the Suspended state, the status of the SIM card will be changed to Terminated state and a Customer will not be able to obtain back the mobile number or any remaining credit balance or freebies in the SIM card.

Generally RM1 reload will give you 1 day's validity.

Same seller; either HWZ Travel Bazaar or Shopee.
