Anyone is staying in Malaysia?

Half half SG / MY or retired?

Come share your experiences!

this is something i've been interested in for a long time

but my worry is customs.

because we can only enter 30 days without visa.

so every month we got to come back SG and re-enter MY.

its just a matter of time they will question and ask whether you are working illegally in MY or whatever

My thought is rent in JB. A condo
Buy a old automatic Malaysian car. Maybe Civic.

When need to chop then drive and pack at City Square Mall JB, take the bus over into SG

Jalan jalan then go back

well..

rental is cheap in JB, even KL
for a well established studio apartment, it can range anything from RM1k to 1.5k negotiable.

a semi landed, goes below RM1k, some even half the price..

you be spoiled for choices if you mentioned that you wanted to rent..
dont fall for the traps like forest city, iskandar ..
you be paying off your arse and no resale value as you can only sell to foreigner...

cars, are cheap..
for a new 2019 proton saga, you be paying only RM40k for a premium mode..
its only 1.3 but enough and suffice to roam around the city and highway..

as for food wise, its kinda subjective.. depending how well you eat etc..
in short, i feel RM3-4k per month is kinda comfortable.

Penang is nice and really safe.
its like singapore, where you could walk safely at night

property are costly and rental is slightly higher as compared to JB and KL.
in term of medical, its also regard as one of the top few states in Malaysia.

JB is more chaotic..
its regard as a gangster land among the malaysia..
probably due to Singaporean?

The pace in KL and penang are similar to singapore.

terrible jam during peak hours..

1 hour journey can take you 6 hours instead..
thats how bad the traffic is

nope.. such things wont happen..

i'm a living example..
i have change almost 3 passports..
90% of them, are with malaysia..

i happen to go malaysia almost every week..
until everyone thought i am a malaysian aka JH kia

never in the 13 years, i was questioned before..

in case you didn't know, singaporean can also drive malaysian cars to singapore.
of course, you need to apply every 6 months, with LTA
with valid reasons like business, staying in malaysia rather than SG.
its possible and doable.
