Well partly because going reservist. And reservist sucks data if you get what I mean . Definitely gonna utlilise it. Besides extra $5.40 a month itís like $0.18 per day over 30 days. If I didnít addon the unlimited and I exceed data just once I can pay for 2 months. Imaginary or not, I sure know I wonít need to pay more than $25.40. Compared to what I was paying for 11GB @ $24? Makes perfect sense to sign up for $1.40 more.
oh... of cos.. by all means if u need all the data go for it man...! good deal...

wacky

Can put both sim in the same phone ma. I doubt you can buy a single sim phone now in 2019
even if u have single SIM phone... u don't need to buy another phone just for additional SIM card...

there is always the cheap MIFI device...

i have 3 SIMs now... my main phone has dual SIM... i use my redone and i have nokia 8110 4G (cost me around $88.. ) for the 3rd SIM and i primary use the nokia for tethering data to my main phone... occasionally also make calls...

wacky

Since TPG has unlimited roaming see if you can receive malaysia yes 4g and connect to it instead. If not maybe you can buy those tourist sim at $12 for 100GB.

The first reservist I went I had to ration 5GB of data for the week and it was a pain
oh ya... hahaha... those 100GB tourist SIM is good idea for ppl going for reservist...

I think OP has a google pixel phone which can only hold 1 physical SIM.

I don't think the phone can operate in dual sim mode which is a shame especially in Singapore.

For me I have been using dual sim since 2014 from using a pitiful 1.3GB M1 plan + 500MB free data sim from M1 fiber broadband to zero1 $9.90+ free m1 sim to now circles life $0 + TPG free trial.

Dual sim phones provide more flexibility IMO. Without it I probably will have to sub to a $20+ plan to meet my needs.

Also I prefer to not be tied down by a contract. The last time I did I missed out on myrepublic $8 uno plan
den get a MIFI lah... best u can even share the cost of MIFI and tourist SIM with ur reservist mates...

wacky

I use my own phone hotspot to share tpg data. That's how I used up 30GB in just 5 days.

TPG very likely tracks the device IMEI which they use to throttle 4g routers and single out iPhone users for their support to lobby against apple for not supporting their VoLTE

For those who are interested, try spam the following Singtel telesales number.

Be prepared for long wait, yesterday I have to wait 20 min on the line.

There is also a free subscription to entertainment.

My Singtel SIM-only contract (7 GB, 150 mins, 500 SMS) is expiring in mid Oct 2019, but I did not receive this SMS. Can I recontract now to this plan or need to wait until current contract expired then can recontract?

I have been Singtel for the past 20 years. Recently switched to starhub. Do notice the little difference in speed.. but it's ok to me.

If you know how to use tasker you can even automate it. I personally use it on my mom phone to only enable tpg data when not connected to WiFi and to auto connect to VPN on public WiFi etc.
gone are the days where android users are power users.

Now half of them can't even differentiate between WiFi and mobile data.

No wonder so many are confused with dual SIM phones unfortunately they also pay way too much for phone plan as well.

You can try to give the number a call.

Just quote my case.

My contract supposed to expire in Dec.

Maybe can try the link or simply call that hotline to try. Do share the outcome.

Based on my experience, don't get the Singtel Hitourist. Speeds are kinda abysmal, maxing out at about 8Mbps down and 3Mbps up. Very disappointing. Makes it hard to even use finish 100GB. I'd rather recommend M1's extreme 75 dollar SIM Only 185GB plan (30+150+5) [or 86.35 with Caller ID and Unlimited Weekend Data).

Look at redone - The only condition for this free roaming trial is that customers must provide feedback to redOne on their roaming experiences, so that redONE can improve the service, it said. redONE Singapore users get up to 300 minutes of free calls and 30 SMS to other local telcos as well as all Malaysian numbers

redONE roaming trial ($50 credit) is only for first month before they launch! They roaming is very expensive, since they don't have any package. But it's good for malaysia use only, other countries is a no no

Just recontract with Singtel on the $20 for 20GB plan. Base plan is 3GB. If before contract expire and no offer taken up, it will revert back to 3GB plan.
