FYI, TS is looking for future-proof phone

rmn3 is like the rest, when 1 slot on 4g, the other will be on 2g

hence after, 2017, when 2g signal is removed, it will effectively become a single sim phone

It is actually quite ok, since in the future everything is going to route by internet

Zenphone seems gd too. Got Sd card slot.

Question is - are the Xiaomi and Zenphones dual 4G similar? Asus states that can support both 4G sim but one 1 will be 4G at any one time. Is Xiaomi the same too?

I'm not sure how dual sim works, so from what I gather here is: even if both sim slots support 4G, only 1 will be 4G at any one time? right?

yes. Most dual SIM phone runs on a 4G+2G network combo, however come April 2017 it will essentially become a 'single SIM' phone as 2G network will be shut down during then.
However it may still be useful if you travel to countries that still support 2G

If you are making voice calls, 2G gives excellent reception and strongest signal. Unfortunately, it will be history soon.

What about Z5 dual and M5 dual? I only see in Jb, anywhere in Singapore got sell?

This means after 2017, you will use one at a time. You'll still avoid the hassle of swapping sim card.

To my knowledge, think Sony Mobile Singapore does not have plans to bring in any dual SIM models as of now.

Yeah, you can still have two SIMs in your dual SIM phone but with one active. :)
