Quick question. Previously I was told by an agent that SAF Living Care has a less comprehensive CI coverage as compared to other companies' CI e.g. Aviva, Tokiomarine.

I read through SAF Living Care's product summary and the CI coverage is the industry standard of 37 items.
So seems like the coverage is no less comprehensive compared to others? Or am I missing something?

The current CI definition is of the 37 items. So it should be standardized across all insurers.

Your agent may have a vested interest in persuading you to buy some other products.

Bump! Anyone out there can help on this?
SAF GTL and MINDEF GTL are the same thing now. They are consolidated and managed by Aviva.

Living Care is the same, with the exception of increasing premium at different age tiers.

Living Care Plus for ECI is the one with lesser covered critical illnesses.

I actually think Pruterm Vantage is pretty competitive for term plan in the market. Recently, they have allowed reduction of SA to $500k.

Just to note, I'm not an agent from Pru.

You can go comparefirst. I'm curious also, so I punch the numbers. without CI, cheapest is singapore life with $13.5K annual premium, till 99 yo, slightly more than 1k per month. Total premium of 458k over the next 34Y till age 99. Very good deal IMO..
But I think if you are taking this amount at this age, they'll ask you to go for medical checkup, and chances of chronic illnesses is high, and either they increase price or reject you altogether.

next is NTUC with annual premium of 21.7K till age 100. So the SingLife is much better.

For your profile,

$300k Death/TPD/CI Term
To age 65: $1,143.25/year.

This is even cheaper than Aviva GTL + Living Care.
$300k Death/TPD/CI Term to age 65: $1,374 per year

What's SAFRA essential Term?
The Living Care rider is potentially better for people say above age 40(?), smokers, and/or seeking cover till age 65 only.
Otherwise, give it a miss.

Edit: Plz ignore my ignorant comment. Wasn't aware the SAFRA Term and SAFRA Living Care legitly exist. Have yet explored this product yet, the above comment was only meant for the SAF GTL.
