what would u recommend?
It's more of ease of claims rather than cost.

See this: http://www.asiaone.com/business/how-...ed-shield-plan

is AIA better in long run if add rider?
Did u look at the figures urself? Don't just ask for blind opinions.
"Better" is subjective and Shield plan is a policy that's also subjected to the most revisions over time.
Person A can tell u product X is better, person B tell u product Y is better, how now brown cow?

Understand what you are getting and why you are getting it, then make ur own evaluations.

What's the ECI plan that u have? Some $50SA covers up to $150k, some $50k covers up to $450, some $50k covers only $75k.

If u have a few hundred thousands sitting in ur bank now this may be sufficient. If u have few millions sitting elsewhere now u prolly dont need any of this plan. If u have less than $100k net worth u better get more than this megre coverage.

Proper advice can only be given if I know u better.

Hello, I am having this ECI plan call Critical Care Advantage from GE. My monthly pay is around 2.5K. I currently also have have ILP ($200) which I would want to surrender and split the amount for better coverage.

Cheaper now doesn't not mean cheaper in future.

Just look at NTUC Income IP private plan, used to be cheapest, but now the premiums charged is almost same as Aviva!

So, choosing only cheapest premiums is like a cat chasing after its tail, because the insurers can adjust their premiums anytime.

Look at all those insurers now with super low premiums, I won't be surprise they will act like NTUC Income, once you get locked in (and it is difficult to change insurers again especially if you start to have medical problems), they will start jacking up premiums (if the premiums they charge are very low now).

oh well, it is okay then, I read alrdy, the rider are about the same

He quoted me the following:

Term plan

$139/month
Death: $200k
Total Permanent disablement: $200k
CI (36 conditions) : $200k
ECI: None
Paying term: 54 years

ECI plan (Currently paying) Till Age 55
$48.33/month
ECI coverage (31 Eary, 26 Intermittent 36 Critical) : $50k

ILP ( Currently paying)
$200/month
Most of the coverage is $100K

Edited the TPD: It's 200k not $0

You should ditch your agent. you are 31 years and the term plan is going to cover you till 85 years old ?

If you cover just to only 65 years old, you can easily reduce the $139/month by close to 50% for the same amount of coverage.

Well, I guess it really depends on what you want too

For your profile,

A $200k Term/TPD/CI coverage till age 65 will cost $1,039.50/year.

A $500k Term/TPD and $250k CI coverage till 65 will cost $1,422.20/year.
