Yes, the same thing happened to me when I tried to open a bank account for my spouse in Punggol Waterway. The sales people kept telling me that Citibank will expedite the process of account opening if you apply for card.

I walked out of the branch.
Sounds dirty.

thought this is expected? it will not stay at 12. if your balance is < previous mth's balance, counter will drop back to 6. only 1 "safety net" at counter 6.

You can withdraw without dropping, but you can only withdraw until the account's lowest this month is still higher than last month's lowest. So what you can withdraw is limited.
It won't drop to 6 that way.

Anyone knows the maximum ifast withdrawal per transaction from citibank to externa bank?

Is it $10,000 or $50,000?

I called the hotline, she says $50,000 but I tried and got cap at $10,000

By mobile, its 10k limit each time, but can do multiple.

Online, I think 50k limit

Yes you ain't wrong, I'm talking about maximizing gains. If you keep 1 year inside SSB, 2nd year also won't jump to 2% whereas Maxigain already 2%. So it pays to switch.
More for those who wish to optimize the near-mid term gains.
If you look at the table in SSB, you would take until the 10th year to have 2% interest averaged out. Whereas you can hit 2% in maxigain by 2nd year.

In other words, if Maxigain doesn't change rules for 5-6 years, you will be vastly ahead of those keeping $$ in SSB for 5-6 years earning less than 2% averaged.
I see, thanks for the info =)

Ehh ... I was told lifetime free and I chose the cashback credit card instead.

Anyone knows how to check the status whether it is lifetime free ?

Worried it will do a OCBC and charge me without informing me.

FYI, dealing with Citibank is very troublesome. It can take up to 1 month to get a waiver for finance charges or card fee.
