Of course it is not worth it if insurance is involved.

Question First month

I deposited 15K on the same day of opening the account (via FAST). Will I get base interest (~1.2%) on my 15K for the first month?

You'll get base interest calculated on daily basis since day 1.

Thanks for replying, so this would mean if I open account on 15th July, then I would be getting base interest for 15 days. Assuming the base interest for July month is 1.2 percent, I would be getting approximately 7.5 dollars as interest. Correct ?

Another question, now that account is already opened , there is no use of putting in more money as my lowest value for the month is already set to what I had deposited on day 1?

You will still get your base interest 0.8 of 1-month sibor regardless you deposit on first or second day

And because you deposit on the first day or on date of opening, you get 0.1% faster or 1 month earlier than those who deposit on the second day

I was given 14 days to put my first deposit when I opened my citi maxigain, and didn't bother to really bring cash or cheque down just to start my counter step up faster

Say deposit another 10k on 2nd month, will the extra 0.2% interest be applied on full 25k for the new 10k?

You will earn base interest from 15July to 31July on your daily balance.

I think lowest balance affects the bonus interest computation, not base interest.

If the lowest balance in 2nd month is $25k, it will earn bonus interest 0.2% in the 3rd month.
