A question

Let say you already have an existing CMS account, with 50k, already reached counter 12
And you have a spare 50k to invest in
Would you
A) Put in the 50k into that existing account?
B) Open a new CMS account?(Not sure whether it is possible though)

Things to consider
SDIC only insured up to S$50,000 per account

Any advise ?
I just dump all my money >50k into CMS, joint acc with my Mum. I heard 2 persons means 50k x 2 insured if its joint. Not sure if its true.

No. Not quite true.
Some banks can have cut - off time earlier, as early as 10pm.
Does anyone have a list of bank cut off time?

What is wrong with those RM at citi branches spreading rumours like $70k minimum balance and amendments of interest to 0.7% of Sibor rate?

He also mentioned that these changes will come to effect within these 2 months. The last I read through this thread and the terms, nothing concrete was inked.

I also bochup, gonna just open account and put $15,0001 this weekend.

Sometimes they receive updated info from product managers? Or simply trying to upsell as you look rich?

To troll or show their displeasure?

Maybe the next person will put $15,000 in $1 coins while $55,000 in $1000 notes on the counter to open account, then will just pass them the $1 coin for first deposit only.

extra $1 to end their BS.

But I confirmed by calling into Citibank, as of today, no such thing as minimum $70k deposit (unless you are into citi priority) and no news about 0.7% sibor interest or whatsoever BS they cooking.
