As long as they close the books for the day

Of course not, lowest balance in month still remains as the amount before interest credited

Hi,

Could anyone advise if it's still worth it to apply for both the interest plus saving and maxigain and wait for the counter to increase or just go and open maxigain only ? What's the sign-up bonus now ? Thanks all

Maxigain will do. Put with other bank promo rates 1st until counter increase, lots of promo rates right now

Thanks for the advice. Any particular promo you have in mind ? My money is already with dbs so can't open with them. Other banks I only see fixed deposit.

You can look at Maybank, SCB esaver and POSB. There is another hwz thread on “Lastest S$ Deposit updates - Part 3” you can find more info there

Transfer to Maxigain when the (base + bonus) interest rate collectively > FD rate.

If Sibor is 1.5%, then base = 0.8 * 1.5 = 1.2%

So if counter 8, then interest = 1.2 + 0.7 = 1.9%, i.e. I think higher than the current FD rate of 1.85%

I am really giving up on Citibank now.
It is so damn bloody difficult to open account with them. Itís almost as if they wanted to discourage me to open an account.

My first maxigain took me 3 visits to the branch before I can successfully apply. ( first visit at Punggol branch. Only 1 officer avail to open account with an hour of waiting / 2nd visit at Serangoon garden but insist I need to have my IC although I have existing account with them )

Initially the officer told me can only apply one account whether personal or joint. After reading other forummees thread realized I can open multiple accounts. So tried to go down to Asia Sq. Ranch today to open another maxigain account.
But the staff told me they are unable to processs acct opening due to their system is down ??? WTF.
And in this digital age Citi still requires to go down personally to open an account while other banks allow digital account opening.
What a disappointing experience.

Ah yeah didnt this from Citibank on the wrong info provided to different bros here on maxigain

But a word of fairness, I believe IC is a requirement for all banks tho.

As an existing Citibank client, I was able to open my Maxigain account simply by calling in by phone... For joint accounts, both must be present at a branch to open an account (even if both are existing Citi clients)
