Yes. Need to go down to the branches to set up the account. I would suggest going to the bigger branches and ignore those smaller ones at MRT. Personally, I had issues opening the account at the Woodlands MRT branch as well as the Waterway Point branch. Had to go down to the one at MacDonald house to get the accounts opened.

I opened at Tampines MRT branch without problem. The staff said will revise to 70k requirement for base interest *soon*

Is it worth to put a max of 150k with no topup and let it run until the end of the counters? What will be the avg interest percentage?

Yes. Second this. Had a terrible experience at woodlands mrt branch. Very Rude staff.

think can open but u need to bring down 15k in cheque or cash. when i went down there last time they say cannot open with $0 balance and FAST in and asked me for cheque. subsequently went to macdonald branch and manage to open with $0 balance.

How about City Hall branch?
Don't open your maxigain account at those "Instant Banking Centres (IBC)" that are located at MRT stations.

They will take weeks to open your account since they can't do it there and have to send your forms to full banking branches to process.

Citi's IBC mainly deal with credit cards.

Punggol Waterway Point is terrible. They tried making me sign up for 2 credit cards so I walked away.
