When you open a joint account, you must specify the principal account holder. The balance of the joint account is attributed to that person's TRB.

Account A (10k)
Account B (10k)
Account A+B, A is principle (5k)

In example AB, A's TRB is 15k, and B's TRB is 10k. B will be charged a fall below fee each month.

It is not possible to have a second A+B account with B as principal.

Account D (15k)
Account D+E, D is principle ($1)

In example DE, D's TRB is $15,001. E is not required to maintain any minimum sum.
You sure? But I know

Account A (150k)
Account B (150k)
Account A+B, A is principle (200k)

Account A cannot be Citigold even though he is $150k+$200k/2

Lol, the CSO even checked with her management. You seem to be more sure than them.

No, tell the cso to read the term and condition first

Yes, this is what the CSO and her management confirmed as well.

A's TRB is 350k
B's TRB is 150k

The requirement for Citigold is 250k; so only A qualifies for it. If the bank is telling you A does not qualify, it's likely that B is the principal for the joint account between them instead.

They changed rule? I was told otherwise, and asked to top up A account to qualify instead.

No rule has changed. Based on your post, it's quite clear B is the principal of their joint account instead and not A. This is probably how their accounts are organized instead:

Account A (150k)
Account B (150k)
Account A+B, B is principle (200k)

A's TRB is 150k
B's TRB is 350k

No, A is principle of the joint A+B, that is why A didnít become Citigold since putting the extra $100k into A donít earn much interest, even B was told to put in extra $100k to become Citigold too.

So A and B are still Citi Priority now. Ok I will intro A and B a Citigold rm to upgrade them to Citigold

Account A (150k)
Account A+B, A is principle (1k)

A's TRB is 151k
B's TRB is 0k

Will the joint account have fall below fee penalty?
