Funny, I received a call the next day from Citibank. They offered to come down to my place to open for me but I rather go down to their branch instead since it's on the way for me.

Oh, I have existing maxigain already.

Just that want to make use of the top up promo.

And my RM never calls me back

RM calls u back, ask him to confirm the enrolment date.

my Personal Banker did not enrol me until 2 weeks later and only after I reminded her to do it. IIRC, the credit of award is X days from date of enrolment.

lucky for you, the bugis branch refused to do for me unless I had a 15k cheque

but the way they phrased it, think even if I had brought a cheque, they would also have refused to do it
wierd, i go last month confirm want create the maxigain savings account, told her want to do but still thinking either put 15k or 70k yet. the chiobu zehzeh instantly create the account for me, done within an hour. then at night i transfer 70k through FAST. is just now i thinking want to add more and most funds inside or keep some inside my CIMB Fastsaver.

ur bugis one is the small small one at MRT ?

cause remember someone mentioned if open at those small small MRT branches, have to wait few days, cause even if they willing to open the acc for you, they still need to bring some paperwork back to the main branch to do..

if not then maybe then they changed somethings or imrpoved

yeah the one at the bugis mrt. no need wait a few days, just less than an hour, the zehzeh type your info into their laptop database, then is done. you just need to FAST when you reach home.

When I did it 2 years ago, I just have SMS text with Banker stating date of enrolment ... more recent sign ups seem like need to sign forms ?? let others confirm this

2.2% is not too bad for doing nth. But just that must rmb to withdraw the interest out.

Once you go lower than the previous month, it will be cut on interest.

actually I just want to leave 70k inside

the 1.2 is floating right?
that means it may go below 2.2%?

1.2% is the fixed one.
The remaining is floating depending on sibor

The base interest rate is 70% of 1 Month SIBOR (approx. 1.302% presently, although Citibank advertised as 1%), which fluctuates daily.

The bonus interest is a monthly step up rate of 0.1% & max at 1.2% after a year (must have lowest monthly balance =/> previous month balance)

With 70k, you will not get 2.2% immediately but about 1.316%, as long as the 1 month SIBOR remains at 1.88% and after a year you will get >2.2% unless SIBOR drops below 1.43%.

Those having MG account for more than a year already getting over 2.5% for last month deposit.
