All should wait as the banks are in the middle of the battle.......

Remember these are fixed deposits & usually there are penalty for early withdrawal.

Not the Stand Chart one. You can open the a/c today and close it next week.

Stupid question indeed.

Anyway, there's no penalty at all if you go deposit cash via the counter.

If you have StandChart Credit / ATM card, you can also use the card to do cash deposit using the cash deposit machine.

FYI, if you will like to withdraw the money from bank counter, please dun ask for cash as there will be service charge. Instead, as for a cheque. It is free

You tried b4? It was free?

Asking for a CO is a withdrawl at the counter, ie. that would still attract a $5 fee.

Remember, they discourage you from using counter services.

The only exception is when you ask for a CO of your entire balance to be made in your favour, ie. when you close the a/c.
