Don't think will have any promos already .... banks have been on the edge to attract new funds this year .... except for DBS,UOB,OCBC lah .... even B.o.Bangkok has not up the stakes since its 1.65% bang for the buck offer. And no news on the SBI front thus far.
Banks usually step up deposit drive to closer to end of the year to cross over the year. Can look towards the next 2 months as there could be even more promo. This year a lot of banks started early and even POSB joins in, surprise surprise.

I am a believer that rates should be rising basing on the trend. Will be an interesting half year to a year ahead.

Why would you guys put into FD instead of SSb or singapore govt treasuries?
Less risk, yearly interest, can put lump sum.

Hmmm, to me, the long period needed (to reap the most interest) for SSB turns me off. Even if I can withdraw earlier, it will result in a low interest.

FDs allow more flexibility by putting in per 1/2/3 years, and the interest is not that bad.

Plus I think for the younger people out there where you will need more expenditure on housing/transport/kids etc, it's better to have more liquid cash on hand.

Let say I have opened the fd acc online for posb but decided to give it a miss, how do I close the acccount? If I just leave it, wonder if there is any penalty?
