Why not one shot go up to 100k..
The banks need to increase their reserve, not so easy to just double the amount.

MAS is aiming for about 90% to be covered under SDIC.
At $50k, it used to be 91% covered back in 2011 but had fallen to 87% now.

$75k is the proposed new coverage to bring the coverage back to 91% or thereabouts.

MAS may raised SDIC protection from the current $50k to $75k.
It was raised from $20k to $50k in 2011.
Thanks for the update bro

Hsbc premier 1.55 for 3 months
The 1.55% is only on the top up amount for one month? Do you open two accounts to ding dong?
And the account must be maintained for 6 months. There is a charge when I withdraw the fund after the promotion..

Singapore needs more banks, it's now an oligopoly, with rates controlled by a powerful cartel. Not healthy in the long term. When the bubbles finally imploded ....

But how does this work?

Earn Base Interest:

80% of the 1-month Singapore Dollar Interbank Offer Rate (1-month SIBOR)

Earn Bonus Interest:

Bonus interest rate that steps up each month
Starting from 0.1% p.a. to a maximum of 1.2% p.a.
