Too good to be true? 2.6% principal plus interest guaranteed 5 year endowment?

Hi guys. I came across an offer that seems too good to be true... Like a free lunch.

5-year non-participating, single premium endowment plan
Principal plus Interest is guaranteed upon maturity:
2.38% per annum if your Single Premium is less than SGD50,000; or
2.60% per annum if your Single Premium is SGD50,000 or more.
Hassle free application with no medical check-up required
Death Benefit
Low entry level: $20,000 (minimum)
Payment: Cash only
Subscription: Face-to-Face (by appointment only)
Expected to close within a few days after launching next week (first-come-first-serve basis)
Based on our internal source, itís limited tranche of product offer by one of the largest and reputable insurance company licensed by MAS and expect to close within a few days after launching.

If you are serious and want to lock in your interest now before product launching, we have to arrange with you to meet up so that you will not miss out this rare opportunity.

Currently, we have several appointments made already and to avoid disappointment, make your appointment now. The last day to make your appointment is 14 Oct for following areas:
So what is the catch here?

How are these guys offering 2.6% 5 year fixed deposit style? Plus insurance coverage?

SGS yields right now.

2.6% for 5 years isn't unusually high. It's normal to offer higher rates than government guaranteed investments because otherwise no one would take up their offer.

hmm.. just a word of caution about such meet-ups - they may psycho/corner you to sign up for other stuff, using the name of this endowment by a big insurance company.

better to bring someone with you. I would stay clear of these. usually the insurance companies would do the direct sales instead of through such unknown mediator.

Thanks for the warning. Nowadays should be easy to fend off such sales tactics when you know of superior investments. Knowledge is power indeed.

Just beware. Last time I fell for this and end up they keep pushing me some other insurance products until I gave up and walked away.
Some use this as dangling candy to get you to meet them.
