Yeah, I also wonder how that's going to work out.

The reason why I'm thinking of getting a law firm to be executor is bcos I dun trust my family to do it, since I'm thinking of not leaving anything for them in my will They can just throw my will away and rely on the law to get a share
Quite true ...

One option is to just leave it to intestate succession act.

Or make yr own arrangements in yr dying days.

Like transfer money between banks yrself.

Set up joint accounts for shares.

Set up jt accounts for bank money.

Sometimes better not to make a will.

Because often u might change yr mind about who inherits what.

And if u make a will, be too transparent, there r certain risks.

is the OCBC Online Will Generator sufficient? my parents and I aren't that financially saavy and we don't really have much assets. thinking if it's good enough?
Want to know this too..
The Online Will Generator utilises a basic Will template and has been prepared upon the advice and with the assistance of Hin Tat Augustine & Partners and does not necessarily deal with every important topic or nor cover every aspect of the topics with which it deals. The Online Will Generator is intended for general use only and does not contain or convey any legal or other advice. You should seek legal advice from appropriately qualified lawyers for more specific Will requirements (e.g. Islamic law, persons under 21, not residing in Singapore etc.).
for basic will, shud be enuff. but everyone has diff objectives and consideration. and after seeing few cases, it is always good to word the will such dat it is understood in the legal circle rather than wht is understood by other common pple.

This is a poor advice. The cost and time for intestate act to distribute your estate is considerably higher. A basic will is better than no will in most cases.

Often after one makes a will, there will be unhappiness, so have to be careful of who u tell the contents of the will to.

If yr beneficiaries r minors, make sure u have 2 executors, not one. To prevent abuse.

And be aware that the government may interfere as a public trustee.

First time "shopping" around for will writing and LPA (lasting power of attorney).

May I know if this is a fair price?

Basic Will
Basic/Simple Will – starts from S$338. This is a “general Will” in which the testator gives his entire estate to up to 6 beneficiaries appointing 2 Executors
1) Additional Clause – Add S$50 per clause.
2) Additional Executor or Trustee – Add S$20 per Executor or Trustee.
4) Additional Beneficiaries from a) 7 to 10 – Add S$50. b)11 to 20 – Add S$100.

Lasting Power of Attorney
LPA Form 1 – S$250 excluding administrative and charges imposed by the Office of Public Guardian.
Singapore Citizen – Registration Fee $75 waived till 31st Aug 2018
Permanent Resident – Registration Fee $100
Foreigners – Registration Fee $250

Not too sure how much the LPA will add up to, since I don't know what are the "administrative and charges imposed by Office of Public Guardian".

Since the 2 witnesses cannot benefit from the will, any ideas who we can approach to be witnesses, if we prefer not to trouble friends/ relatives?
