You should find out more the difference between a will and trust.

Actually the state has written a will of us, if you do not like how you asset is divided.
Will is a good to have.

Then decide if you need a trust, depending on your preference

What your agent did is incorrect. It should be done with a lawyer, experienced in will writings.
Depending on the complexity of your assets and allocation they can then better advice you.

Also do note that under section 73, which now has been replaced. The Will does not apply to Policies that have nominations done prior to year 2009.

Do goggle for more info

Writing a will

I'm looking for a fairly-priced lawyer to help me draft my will. Any suggested ones I could look into?

Hi, I might be able to find someone to help but let me check with him first.

When I was contemplating to make my will several years ago, friends asked me to use ntuc service. Upon checking with them, I realised that there were many legal formalities to comply with under the Will Act.

I weighed their cheap fee against the future 'piece of mind', I made my Will from a lawyer.

My advice is when your Will has any problem, if the Will was drafted by non lawyer, where is your recourse?

Practising lawyer must take up mandatory professional indemnity insurance.

Any cockup just sue the lawyer.

Erm, I think your friend would appreciate if you give out her number in PM instead of public? I guess you should edit it away.

You mean
(1) An organisation like NTUC Income doesn't have a legal department?
(2) Wills prepared by NTUC Income are not vetted by a lawyer?
(3) NTUC Income doesn't have the insurance needed to cover being sued for negligence? I LOL at this one.

This book is available from National Library. Good to read first before deciding whether you need to consult a financial planner, lawyer, NTUC, or DIY.

Where you get info that NTUC writes wills? I attended their talks and a lawyer from an independant law firm was present to cover the topic. The wills are done by law firm at an ntuc special price.

You don't need a lawyer to write will. It is usually costly to seek a lawyer to write your will. A practicing will-writer will do the job, as their job specialises in will writing and it costs cheaper.

PM me if anyone needs a will. It is reputable and affordable and has been around for many years.

If you have worries for some family members about leaving your assets.. i think a few hundreds for a lawyer to draft your will is worthwhile.

imagine u left a few hundreds thousands, or a million plus, but it didnt get to the family member that you want... sigh.
