What maybe worth it to someone may not be worth it to others. This is basic logic and common sense.

If you are someone who goes to SAFRA to swim a lot or if you regularly use some perks provided by SAFRA that gives you discount, you can count how much you would have saved had you not have SAFRA membership.

This can be calculated.

to spoon feed you, entrance fee to SAFRA swimming pool range from $1.15 to $3.30 if you are not a member. if you are a member it will be free. so assuming you always want to swim during the time slot where it cost $3.30, to make your $270 worthwhile, you need to go for at least 82 times during the course of your membership. $270/$3.30 = ~82.

So if you don't then it is not worth it?

Just make sure you can make use of the facilities / courses otherwise the money is a waste.

I was a SAFRA member for 20 years but hardly use the facilities. The only thing I did was to attend some photography courses back in 1995, but that's about it.

Although I live near Bukit Merah SAFRA Clubhouse (now shifted to Telok Blangah), I just cannot bring myself to go to the clubhouse just to make the membership worth. You might know the feeling, after a day's / week's work, you just want to chill at home instead of going anywhere.

Thats what I think too, not really THAT worth. I go swimming at public pool also $1.30 only. Unless wanna do rock climbing then outside abit hard to find such facility.

This is an additional benefit if you participate in SAFRA activities regularly. I used to live just 10 minutes' walk from SAFRA Bukit Merah Clubhouse, but was too tired after work to work over to do anything there.

You could also get credit cards with no annual fees elsewhere. I have one from a major bank in Singapore that I have not paid annual fees since 1991.

The watch also cost quite a bit of money, I think. So, what do you think about the membership? Would you recommend somebody to sign up?

Getting a free watch has no value if you donít need it. So need to value it independently of the watch, unless u just happen to want one.

Not worth for me but if you regularly use their facilities, maybe.

SAFRA changing room/shower is significantly cleaner than most public pools.
